The Two Rivers Activity Center Board of Directors is hosting forums today and July 8 at which the public may influence the final details of the design of TRAC. We encourage the public to attend and participate in these forums as the TRAC Board finalizes the design for TRAC.
Brian Berg, principal architect for Zerr Berg Architects, will attend both forums. The forums start at 7 p.m. Today’s forum is at North Dakota Farmers Union; the second is July 8 at Jamestown Middle School. These forums are the best way for residents to let their views be known on how they want TRAC to look and feel.
Jamestown voters approved a 1 percent sales tax on June 2 to pay for construction of the first phase of TRAC.
The first phase of TRAC is a $28.6 million facility that will serve as a community and activity center. The facility will include three multi-sport courts, a fitness facility, an indoor pool and water features, an exercise track, child care facility and an indoor turf field under a dome.
If people can’t attend the forums there is a website,
www.tracjamestown.org
, that has contact information for every TRAC Board member as well as updates on the project’s process. If you have an opinion or idea about TRAC, let the board members know.
Also, the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission is involved in TRAC. The facility will become property of the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department once it’s completed, which means the commission will ultimately have authority over TRAC. The public can share its suggestions for TRAC or any other parks and recreation facility or program with commission members as well.
TRAC has the ability to be a center of activity here in Jamestown. Be part of the process.
