Top story of the week:- The flu-shot season is off to a busy start, according to Robin Iszler, unit administrator for the Central Valley Health District.
Central Valley offered a flu shot and COVID booster clinic on Oct. 1 at the Jamestown Civic Center.
"We had about 225 people attend," Iszler said. "We did a lot of (COVID) boosters with the flu shots for people that were eligible."
That amounted to about 75 COVID booster shots, Iszler said. Only patients who received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination more than six months ago are currently eligible for the booster shot. Boosters for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are awaiting approval by the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Click here to read more.
