Snow removal in alleys to begin Jan. 31 in downtown Jamestown

All vehicles should be removed from the alleys.

JSSP City News

Jamestown city crews will begin clearing snow in alleys starting at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, in the downtown area.

Alleys that will be cleaned are on 5th Street North through 9th Street South from 2nd Avenue West through 2nd Avenue East.

All vehicles should be removed from the alleys.

The schedule is contingent on changing weather conditions and snow accumulation totals.

The city noted that people should not remove snow, slush or ice from private property or from any driveway, curb cut or sidewalk and deposit it on the street or alley. The snow and ice may be removed by the city and the expense of doing that will be chargeable against the abutting lot or property.
