FORMAN, N.D. (AP) -- A Sargent County employee on his way to work came to the rescue of a snow goose hunter from Minnesota who had become disoriented in a southeast North Dakota slough.

Whitey Bommersbach says he spotted light from a flashlight off to the side of the road about 6 a.m. Thursday. He got out of his pickup truck and shouted toward the flooded marsh area until he heard a response. He says he found John Utecht, of Victoria, Minn., nearly frozen.

Utecht was treated for exposure at an Oakes hospital. His son, Zach, said his father left for home later in the day feeling much better.
