Gall records 500th win
University of Jamestown softball coach Kevin Gall recorded his 500th career victory against Dordt College on March 14.
This is Gall's 18th year at the helm of the Jimmies softball program. He has 15 winning seasons under his belt and a 501-315 career record.
Jamestown is ranked 21st and holds a 20-4 record. The Jimmies travel to Omaha, Neb. this weekend to play Bellevue University.
Jimmies move up four spots
The University of Jamestown baseball team moved up four spots to No. 12 in the third NAIA baseball coaches' top 25 poll.
Jamestown (23-1) have won 10 straight games since the second poll was released two weeks ago. Overall, the Jimmies are on a 13-game winning streak dating back to March 2.
The Jimmies travel to Omaha, Neb. this weekend to face Bellevue University, the defending North Star Athletic Association champions.
Region 3 all-conference team
Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier was the All-South Central Conference team champion in boys basketball, while 11 players made the all-conference team.
Lane Hanson and Isaac Huber were all-conference for E-K-M; Jamison Fettig was a selection for Napoleon-GS; Austin Molen and Lucas Hofer for Ellendale; Austin Schmidt for Kidder County; Lance Weiser and Cole Baumiller for Linton-HMB; Alex Scheer and Stetson Haak for Strasburg-Zeeland; and Alex Ruff for South Border.
Honorable mention honors were doled out to William Kleppe, Ethan Kleppe and Pacey Feist of NGS; Hunter Thorpe of Ellendale; Gage Pfaff of Kidder County and Collin Martz of South Border.
