Kenzie Carlson's placed 8th in the 50-yard freestyle to highlight Jamestown High School's 16th-place finish at the girls state swimming and diving meet at Hulbert Aquatic Center in West Fargo.

Carlson, a junior, finished fifth in the preliminary event on Friday with a time of 25.19 seconds. She swam 0.43 seconds slower in the A Final.

The Blue Jays' 200 medley relay team was 10th (1:57.92), the 200 free relay was 11th (1:45.57) and the 400 free relay was 15th (4:07.05).
