Lisbon wrestling won five of the first six head-to-head matches against South Border on Saturday to win the Region 1 dual tournament championship held at Ellendale High School.

The Broncos wound up claiming 9 of 12 contested matches, en route to the title. Lisbon picked up pins from Boeden Greenley (106 pounds), Brody Aberle (120), Simon Sveum (132) and Hunter Schwab (138).

The Mustangs' Grant Schneider (126) and Jake Herr (160) each notched victories via fall, and Riley Molter (220) picked up a 9-0 major decision.

Carrington finished fourth at the Region 2 dual tournament on Saturday in Grafton, following a 49-30 loss to Pembina County North.

The Class B individual wrestling tournaments will be held Feb. 9. The Region 1 individual tourney will be held at Linton, while Region 2 will travel to Larimore.
