Blue Jays at Badlands Bowl

Former Jamestown High School football standouts Jared Kallenbach, Marcus Hochhalter and Paul Vandal will be competing in the annual Badlands Bowl this Saturday, June 15, in Miles City, Mont. The game between graduated seniors from Montana and North Dakota is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central time at Connor’s Stadium.

Kallenbach, a Minnesota State University-Moorhead football recruit at safety, recorded 52 tackles out of the defensive backfield for the 7-4 Blue Jays last fall, and also snatched 12 catches for 182 yards and three touchdowns at receiver. Hochhalter, a North Dakota State College of Science football recruit, was selected to the Class 2A all-state first team at defensive line by the state’s coaches in 2018, after recording 33 tackles. Vandal, who has committed to play football at the University of Jamestown, was named first team all-state on the offense line and rolled to the 220-pound Class A state wrestling title in February.

Hillcrest ladies' day winners

Gloria Davis recorded the closest third shot on Hole 4 at 6 feet, 9 inches during ladies' day activities at Hillcrest Golf Course on June 11.

Erma Mogck won the mystery game with the best even-hole score (51). Evie Burgard collected the most pars on the front nine with three, while Jill Bredahl won the door prize.
