Jays compete at round robin
The Jamestown High School boys tennis team competed at the Minot Round Round on Saturday.
Gage Orr went 4-2 on the day to finish third at No. 3 singles, while Issac Mimong's 3-3 performance placed him fourth at No. 1 singles. The Jays' Kaden Schmidt competed to a 1-5 mark at No. 2 singles.
The Blue Jay doubles teams of Dawson Mee/Carson Dewald and Kane Schmidt/Mason Lunzman each went 0-6 at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
The Blue Jays play the Bismarck Demons in 4-3 nonconference action Tuesday (Aug. 27) in Bismarck.

Hillcrest weekly winners
Roger Fisher came within 20 feet, 4 inches of the pin on hole 7 last Thursday, Aug. 22, during men's day activities at Hillcrest Golf Course.
Other closest to the hole winners were: Mike Jarland, hole 8 (10 feet, 11 inches); Fisher, hole 15 (10-1); and Jason Vogel, hole 17 (10-9). Hank Kates scored the longest putt on hole 3 (4-8) and Len Orr tallied the closest second shot on hole 9 (16-2).
Jerry Strahm and Dennis Weixel scored the deuce pot, Stram was the mystery tournament winner and Weixel was awarded the door prize.
