Blue Jays tie in Bismarck

The Blue Jay boys soccer team did not come away with a win or a loss Tuesday night in Bismarck, as the Jays finished in a 3-3 tie facing Bismarck Century. Century was led by junior defender Kenneth Brako who scored twice in the first half for the Pats.

The Jays responded at the end of the first half with a corner kick from Cullin Bennett and an assist from Matt Morin. Senior forward Jaden Christ found the back of the net for the Jays and Morin finished the match with a final goal.

The Jays will be traveling to play Crookston High School on Thursday.

Jays fall in five

Bismarck won the final three sets over Jamestown in Class A high school volleyball Tuesday night in Bismarck, defeating the Blue Jays 3-2.

Jamestown (5-4, 1-1 West Region) took command 25-17, 29-27 after two sets, but the Demons (7-3, 3-0) would eventually tie the match at 2-2 and take the fifth 15-10.

Jessa Anderson (17) Grace Hegerle (15) and Ella Roaldson (14) all topped double figures in kills for the Jays. Kameron Selvig turned in 38 assists and a pair of aces.

Jamestown will look to bounce back at Dickinson (5-4, 2-0) this Friday.

LaMoure defeats Maple Valley

LaMoure/Litchville-Marion defeated Maple Valley in a three-set sweep (25-11, 25-14, 25-16) Tuesday night.

Ellie Holen led the Loboes on offense and defense totaling 19 kills and 13 digs. Molly Musland sent eight kills to the floor and Ashlyn Rode recorded seven for L/LM. Allie Hebl recorded 31 assists while in the back row. Musland and Rain Aberle added 13 digs to the books. Ryleigh Podoll was the leader from the service line with three aces.

The Loboes improved to 4-2 and will face Oakes Thursday. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at LaMoure High School.

Cardinals fall to Bison

Ashley McFadgen put six kills on the ground while Hanna Wieland and Allie Bruner totaled six more for the Bison. Ashley Weiss totaled 10 assists, while Kendra Geshik anchored the back row with 23 digs and totaled five aces. The Bison's back row was also strengthened by McFadgen and Wieland who recorded another 36 digs.

Ellendale's Taylor Krege posted six kills, six assists and 12 digs on the night for the Cardinals. Chloe Bollinger passed for another 13 digs and Morgan Fischer recorded two aces and two blocks up front.

The Bison will host New Rockford-Sheyenne Thursday while the Cardinals will be facing off against Medina-Pingree/Buchanan in Ellendale.
