Jays sweep Coyotes
Ella Roaldson led the way for the Jamestown High School volleyball team against Williston on Saturday.
The junior middle blocker ended the 3-0 sweep over the Coyotes with 11 kills and three blocks at the net. Roaldson was joined by outsides Grace Hegerle and Jessa Anderson up front. Anderson and Hegerle added 11 more kills to the books for the Jays, while starting setter Kameron Selvig totaled 21 assists. Freshman setter Katie Trumbauer also saw the floor for the Jays and added two assists to help out the offensive side of the ball.
On the Jays' defensive side of the ball, Rachel Schiele anchored the back row with 13 digs and two aces from the service line. Hegerle and Anderson also saw time in the back row and finished the set with a combined 10 digs while Selvig added four against the Coyotes. Hegerle claimed seven points from behind the service line for the Jays and defensive specialist Alex Nihill found the ground four times from the line. The Blue Jays totaled 17 aces on the night.
The Blue Jays will host Bismarck St. Mary's on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Soccer turns away Minot
The Blue Jay boys soccer team claimed victory over the Magicians 2-1 on Saturday in Minot.
In the 14th minute of the match, Ezra Hagerott of Minot found the back of the goal off an assist from Kameron Foley. But 4 minutes after Minot took a 1-0 advantage, Blue Jay sophomore Kael Jenison tied it up for the Jays at the half.
The Jays scored the go-ahead goal with 14:28 left to play. Senior Forward Jaden Christ taillied, with an assist going to Matt Morin.
The Jays will host Bismarck Century on Thursday, Sept. 26. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
