Senior high school all-star games scheduled for this summer in North Dakota were called off Friday due to the novel coronavirus.
Both the North Dakota High School Coaches Association's Lions all-star basketball series and Optimist all-star volleyball series have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lions basketball games, pitting Class A against Class B in boys and girls competition, was scheduled to be held July 13 at Bismarck Legacy High School and July 14 at West Fargo High School.
The Optimist volleyball series, which pits the top Class A and Class B graduated seniors from the East playing against their counterparts from the West, was originally scheduled to be held June 15 at Fargo Davies High School and June 16 at Bismarck Century High School.
Also announced Friday, the 27th and final annual Badlands Bowl that was scheduled to take place in Dickinson on June 20 has been canceled. The football game would've been played between seniors from North Dakota and Montana.
