The Jamestown High School girls swim team captured the first place spot at the Blue Jays ' home Marney Shirley Invitational Saturday.

Blue Jay sophomore Chea Baugh captured a first-place finish in the 200 IM touching the wall at 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Baugh also topped the leaderboard in the 500 freestyle race posting a time nine-seconds under six minutes.

Sophomore Alexes Prasek claimed the top spot in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:12.03 beating Blue Jay teammate Georgia Lettenmaier by 0.31 seconds. Delanie Finck claimed the No. 3 spot making the clock stop at 2:22.85.

Jamestown finished with 718 points while Williston swam to a second-place finish with 697 points. BHS rounded out the three-team invite with 476 points.

The Jays will be back in the pool hosting Mandan on Thursday. The dual is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Soccer wins on the road

It was senior day at Legends Field Saturday afternoon.

The Jamestown High School boys soccer team secured its fifth win of the season Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays downed Willistoni in a 2-0 victory. The Jays previously bested the Coyotes 4-1 on Aug. 22.

Senior captain Ezra Hanse gave the Blue Jays the lead with 38 minutes remaining in the first half. Hanse found the back of the net off of a free-kick. With 12 minutes to play in the first half, Levi Korum clinched the win as the senior blew past a series of Coyote defenders.

The Jays will be back on the field on Tuesday hosting Bismarck Century. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Golf finishes seventh in Williston

The Blue Jays ' girls golf team had a few missed shots Saturday afternoon in Williston.

JHS finished seventh out of ten competing teams turning in a score of 402. Defending state champions, Bismarck Century earned the top spot shooting a 340 -- 22 points ahead of second-place finisher Mandan. Carrie Carmichael of Williston earned first-place honors carding a 73, edging out the Patriots' Hannah Herbel by one stroke.

The Jays were led by a senior duo.

Cora Wolsky who shot a team-low 96 for a 12th place finish. Kyra Vogel was one stroke behind tieing for the No. 13 spot.

Junior Bria Nieswaag ended her round with 104 one stroke ahead of freshman Olivia Sorlie. Senior Lauryn Hibl rounded out the Jays' top-five with a 111.

The team will be back on the green for the Regional Tournament on Sept. 28. The tourney is scheduled to tee-off at 10 a.m.
