Jamestown High School graduate Kadie Anderson has been awarded a $500 scholarship from the North Dakota High School Coaches Association and Burger King of North Dakota.
Anderson earned 13 athletic letters in her high school career for the Blue Jays-five in softball and four each in basketball and volleyball. She was also a team captain in basketball and softball.
Anderson was the No. 1 pitcher for the Blue Jay softball team, which advanced to the state tournament for the first time and placed fourth. She was named to the all-West Region team.
Anderson also excelled academically. She posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average and scored a 27 on the ACT. Her class load as a senior included AP Calculus plus Anatomy-Physiology and Chemistry. Additionally, she is a member of the National Honor Society.
Anderson was recommended for the scholarship by the JHS faculty because of her strong character and work ethic.

Anderson has signed to play softball at Valley City State next season.
"Kadie is a great fit for our team and program," VCSU softball coach Elle Fracker said. "Not only does she excel on the field, but in the classroom as well. We are very excited to see what she will add to our team next fall."
Anderson also was a four-year member of the Jamestown High School choir and Student Government. She is the daughter of Cory and Kristi Anderson. She plans to study in the health sciences at VCSU.
