Everybody was getting touches in LaMoure Monday night.

The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion volleyball team swept Griggs-Midkota 25-15, 25-20, 25-16 in the final round of the District 5 tournament. The Loboes topped Barnes County North 3-1 last Thursday and lost 3-0 to the newly crowned District 5 champs, Carrington, on Friday.

LaMoure/LM, Carrington, Oakes and Ellendale have all advanced to the Region 3 tournament scheduled to begin next week. The Region 3 bracket has not been released at this time.

While Griggs-Midkota missed the Region 3 tourney this year the Titans were giving the Loboes plenty to handle in the back row.

Of the Loboes' 13 rostered varsity team members, 11 had at least one dig recorded. Junior libero Risa Rasmusson led the pack with 10 pop-ups while Nateal Rodin and Rose Wendel combined for another 13 digs. LLM tallied an official dig count of 44.

While defensive specialist Kierra Weight turned in a modest four saves in the back row she did her part to rattle the Titans defense. Weight churned out a monstrous eight aces from the backline. Rodin, the second-leading server sent three to the ground.

Heidi Steffes led the Loboes in total kills with 12 while senior Ashlyn Rode crushed nine balls on the outside.

Cards fly past Rebels

Ellendale dished out a four-set win in the final round of the District 5 tournament Monday night. The Cardinals ended Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier's season topping the Rebels 25-16, 25-22, 15-25, 25-12 at home.

EKM just couldn't seem to get around Ellendale's front three.

Abby Molan and Abby Peterson combined for 14 blocks against EKM's hitters. Molan also led the cards in the front, drilling 16 balls past the defense. Morgan Fischer added 12 more to the books while Bethany Morehead ended with eight kills.

In the back half of the court, Chloe Bollinger popped up 21 balls to setters Jada Hennigson and Peterson who compiled 39 assists.
