Brandon Barnes of Bismarck High School has been named the 2010 Gatorade track athlete of the year.
Barnes, who won the 800 and 1600 at the state meet last month, is the third winner from BHS.
Barnes, who will attend Iowa State next year and compete in track, accounted for 27.5 points at the state meet as the Demons claimed their seventh straight state title.
