No hits made it pretty easy for the Jamestown Post 14 Legion Baseball team to cruise to a pair of wins over in the capital city Monday night.

The Eagles defeated the Reps 7-0 and 12-3 to claim the West Region regular-season title for the second straight year. The Eagles are 18-6 on the year, with four of the losses coming at the 36th Annual Hladky Legion Baseball Tournament in Gillette, Wyoming last month.

Post 14 is set to host the Dickinson Volunteers tomorrow at Jack Brown Stadium. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Jacoby Nold was brilliant on the pitcher's mound on Monday, as the recent JHS grad, threw a no-hitter to lead the Eagles. Nold recorded nine strikeouts across the seven innings and allowed just five walks in his 105 pitches.

Nold put up one of the four RBIs in the third inning that helped the Eagles secure the victory. Nold went 1-for-2 with a double at the plate. Gage Orr, Isaac Mimong and Carson Orr also sent runners across the plate in the third to make it 5-0.

All told the Eagles racked up 11 hits, with Gage Orr leading the team at the plate. The starting second-baseman for the Eagles went 3-for-4 in the batter's box, driving in three runs. On top of the hot bats, the Eagles did not make an error across the seven frames.

Matt Porter started the game for Bismarck Reps on the mound. The hurler surrendered seven runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out one batter. Nick Patton relieved Porter in the fifth and threw three innings in relief.

Porter found more success in game No. 2 going 2-for-3 in the batter's box. The Reps collected eight hits and scored three runs just in the third off Mason Lunzman, but it was too little too late.

Lunzman earned the win in game No. 2, surrendering three runs off eight hits across the seven innings. The hurler retired 11 batters and gave up just two walks. The soon-to-be JHS junior also came in clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond, driving in four on three hits. Lunzman drove in runs on a single and a double.

While the Reps were able to put up three in the third, the Eagles had done their due diligence and put up six in the second, making it a 9-3 ball game entering the fourth. Lunzman, Nold, Max Fronk, Gage Orr and Brooks Roaldson all drove in runs in the second.

The Eagles posted 18 hits as a team in game No. 2.
