Class B Roundup: Thunder upsets No. 2 Rebels

Medina-Pingree-Buchanan girls basketball played the spoiler Monday night.

The fifth-ranked Thunder handed second-ranked Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier its first loss of the season, upsetting the defending Region 3 champion 44-43 on its home court in Edgeley.

M-P-B overcame a 21-12 first-half deficit in the final two quarters. Megan Moser connected from downtown twice in the game and scored 11 points for the Thunder, and Amanda Allen connected for three 3-pointers and 10 points.

Allen hit two treys in a pivotal fourth quarter. The Thunder made 9 of 12 from the charity stripe in the final frame to win by a single point.

E-K-M’s Katie Entzi finished with 14 points. The Rebels fall to 10-1 on the season, while the Thunder moved to 8-2.
