Stutsman Co. girls basketball pairings

Carrington will open the annual Stutsman County girls basketball invitational tournament facing Warwick on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Jamestown Civic Center.

Carrington (0-1) was awarded the top seed out of District 5 for the tournament. The Cardinals opened the season with a 78-64 loss to a tough Velva squad (3-0).

The first North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Class B girls basketball media poll will be released tonight, Dec. 3. Also, look for The Jamestown Sun's annual basketball preview magazine—Fastbreak—in Tuesday's issue of the newspaper, Dec. 4.

Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter will play Ellendale in Thursday's second quarterfinal. The defending Region 3 champion, Medina-Pingree-Buchanan, will face Midkota at 6 p.m. and Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier will battle South Border at 7:30.

Consolation play begins Friday at 3 p.m., with semifinal games scheduled to begin at 6. Saturday's final day of play begins at 2 p.m. with the title game scheduled for 6:30.

D5 No. 2 Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier (1-0) vs. No. 3 South Border (0-1), 7:30 p.m.
