Class A basketball: Jan. 2 rankings remain same

The Class A boys and girls basketball statewide media rankings remained unchanged Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Jamestown High School boys (6-0) are still slotted in at No. 2 behind top-ranked Fargo Davies (8-0). The Blue Jays received two of 15 first-place votes in the polling are are 11 points behind the Eagles, who host third-ranked West Fargo Sheyenne (8-0) this Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Jamestown hosts Williston and Dickinson this Friday and Saturday at Jerry Meyer Arena, with varsity girls action at 5:45 p.m. and the boys to follow at 7:45 both nights.

The Blue Jay girls (4-2), coming off a 65-59 victory at Valley City on Dec. 29, are receiving votes in the rankings. The polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
