Jimmie women's basketball downs Doane

Paige Schmidt, Lissy McCulloch and Courtney Mosloski each scored 13 points for the University of Jamestown women's basketball team Saturday as the Jimmies defeated Doane University 70-62 on the road. Jamestown climbed above .500 at 11-10, while Doane is 3-17.

Free throws were the difference for the Jimmies as they hit 27 of 32 (84 percent). Jamestown went 18 of 55 from the field (32 percent) and 7 of 25 from beyond the arc.

Haylee Heits paced the Tigers with 17 points, followed by Emma Areman (13) and Sidney Blackburn 11.

Jamestown hosts second-ranked Concordia University (Neb.) at Newman Arena on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m.
