Special Olympics state basketball held in Minot

The Jamestown Wizards won the Division 1 Special Olympics basketball championship and took home the gold medal March 1-2 in Minot. The Jamestown Wildcats claimed second place at the Special Olympics in Division 2 basketball and took home the silver medal. Special Olympics North Dakota state basketball was held in Minot on March 1-2. Four teams from Jamestown competed and 50 overall teams participated.

The Jamestown Wizards highlighted the tournament with a gold medal, state championship, in Division 1. The Jamestown Wildcats took second place in Division 2. Also placing was the Jamestown Jaguars (3rd) and the Cobras (5th).

Sandy Ruark was named to the all-tournament team, while James Lee was an honorable mention.
