Jamestown High School is ranked No. 1 in the first Class A boys basketball statewide media poll released Wednesday and voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

The defending Class A state champion Blue Jays, currently riding a 29-game winning streak dating back to last season, are off to a 2-0 start following a 111-64 victory over Bismarck St. Mary's on Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena.

Jamestown is at Bismarck (1-1) on Friday. JHS senior Boden Skunberg if four points shy of matching the school record of 1,345 points set by Don Bruggman.

Last year's state tournament runner up, Fargo Davies (2-0) is ranked second.

Bismarck Century (2-0) tops the first Class A girls basketball poll. The Blue Jay girls (2-0) are receiving votes.
