The previously sixth-ranked Rugby boys basketball team jumped four spots in the fifth NDAPSSA Class B basketball statewide media poll. The poll was released at 7 p.m. on Monday.

The Panthers sit at spot No. 2 behind top-ranked Four Winds-Minnewaukan. Rugby received a pair of first-place votes and the team has gone undefeated (7-0) so far this season. Four Winds-Minnewaukan holds a record of 6-0 and the Indians earned 16 first-place votes.

Despite losing a first-place vote, the Kindred girls basketball still holds the No. 1 spot in the NDAPSSA Class B basketball poll. The Vikings are 9-0 on the season and have earned 14 first-place votes. The team's average margin of victory sits at 34 points.

Rugby moved up three this week to clinch the third spot and received one first-place vote. Kidder County advanced one spot to claim spot No. 4. The Rugby holds a record of 10-0 while Kidder County sits at 11-1.
