Brady Haugen won the boys ages 12-13 division of the Elks Hoop Shoot Northwest Central Regional Championship on March 14 in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Haugen, from Hannaford, North Dakota, and representing Jamestown Elks Lodge No. 995, had previously won at the local, district and state levels of the annual competition that included a field of more than 100,000 boys and girls ages 8-13 this year.

A 13-year-old student at Griggs County Central, Haugen is the son of Lynn and Dawn Haugen.

The national championships scheduled for April 16-19 in Chicago, Illinois, have been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
