One day after earning Class A boys basketball all-state first-team honors for a second consecutive season, Jamestown High School’s Boden Skunberg earned more hardware Thursday.
The Blue Jay senior earned North Dakota Gatorade boys basketball player of the year honors, which was announced by the Gatorade Company. Skunberg followed Jamestown’s Mason Walters, who won the award last winter.
A feature on Skunberg’s Gatorade selection will appear in Saturday’s (March 28) edition of The Jamestown Sun, along with the results for Mr. Basketball.
Skunberg is in the running for the 2019-20 Mr. Basketball award along with Devils Lake’s Grant Nelson, Hillsboro/Central Valley’s Carson Henningsgard, Minot’s Jaxon Gunville, Richland’s Cole Myers, Mandan’s Elijah Klein and Shiloh Christian’s Jaden Mitzel.
The award, chosen by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, is presented annually to the state’s top senior player.
