Carrington seniors Kenzie Edland and Lexi Page combined with junior Emma Rindy to bury 9 of 19 3-pointers Tuesday night in LaMoure.

The 10th-ranked Cardinals defeated LaMoure/Litchville-Marion 58-42 behind the nearly 50% long-range shooting by the trio. Rindy, Edland and senior forward Hannah Hagel each scored 13 points for the 11-3 Cardinals, who have won four in a row.

The Loboes (10-3) had a five-game winning streak snapped. Molly Musland scored a game-high 21 points for the home team.

The Loboes, previously unbeaten in District 5 play, travel to Oakes on Thursday. Carrington hosts Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier on Friday.

Eighth-ranked Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier boys basketball dug out of a first-period hole Tuesday night in Edgeley.

Trailing visiting Linton/HMB 23-14 after eight minutes, the Rebels outpaced the Lions 28-16 over the next two frames and leaned on big men Alex Huber (6-foot-6) and Chayse Entzi (6-7) in the second half. After being held to a combined seven points before the break, Huber and Entzi combined to score 14 in the third to fuel EKM to a 42-39 lead to start the final frame.

All-state talent Lucas Schumacher scored a game-high 22 points for the Lions, who dropped to 8-3 on the season and will host Medina/Pingree-Buchanan on Thursday in Linton. The 10-1 Rebels travel to Ashley on Thursday to play South Border.

University of Jamestown women's basketball recruit Madelyn Schmidt dropped 30 points in three quarters on Tuesday against South Border in Steele.

The Kidder County senior guard nailed four three-pointers and wasn't asked to score in the fourth period in the runaway win. The Mustangs, who didn't reach the free-throw line, were led in scoring by Reagan Gross with 10 points.

The Wolves improved to 10-2 and host Heart River (5-7) on Friday.

Fifth-ranked Linton/HMB girls basketball jumped ahead 26-3 in Edgeley and cruised by 20 over Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier.

Erica Umber's 14 points led 10 Lions in scoring, helping Linton/HMB improve to 12-2 with four to play. Mataeya Mathern scored 14 points to lead the 6-9 Rebels.

The Lions will host Medina/PB on Thursday, while EKM travels to 10th-ranked Carrington on Friday.

The Medina/Pingree-Buchanan boys fended off Maple Valley by two points in Pingree.

After outpacing the Raiders 36-28 through three quarters, Maple Valley nearly pulled off the comeback in the final frame behind eight of Evan Richman's 20 points. Josh Moser (22 points) and Rylen Wick (20) each broke 20 markers for the home team. Wick canned four triples from beyond the arc.

The Thunder moved above .500 at 5-4 ahead of Thursday's tilt in Linton.
