The Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier boys basketball team remained in the No. 2 spot of North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA) media poll but fellow Region 3, District 5 team, Ellendale, was dropped out of the top-10 altogether this week.

The latest polls were released Monday evening.

The Rebels put up another perfect two-game week to improve to 18-1 wound up second in the statewide poll after putting together a 2-0 week last week to improve to 16-1. The Cardinals (16-3), last week's No. 8 team, is still among those teams receiving votes. Oakes (13-6) is also receiving votes.

Four Winds/Minnewaukan (18-1) is still ranked No. 1.

On the girls' side, Central Cass dropped its first game of the season to Thompson on Feb. 18. The Squirrels are still ranked No. 1 but the team did give up a good portion of their first-place votes only tallying seven this week. This week's No. 4 team, Kenmare (21-0), picked up four first-place votes while Kindred (17-3) and Grafton (19-2) each recorded three. Thompson secured the last vote.

Linton/HMB (18-2) and Kidder County (16-3) were ranked sixth and ninth while Carrington (16-5) was the first team listed to receive votes. The Region 3 tournament kicks off today at 3 p.m. at the Jamestown Civic Center.
