Blue Jays finish seventh at West Region golf tourney

The Jamestown High School boys golf team fell one position short of qualifying for the Class A state tournament on Tuesday at Hawktree Golf Club in Bismarck.

The Jamestown High School boys golf team fell one position short of qualifying for the Class A state tournament on Tuesday at Hawktree Golf Club in Bismarck.

Jamestown placed seventh with a team score of 347, four shots back of Dickinson -- the final team qualifier -- in sixth at 343.

Blue Jay seniors Bradley Burnham and Brooks Carroll paced Jamestown on Tuesday firing an 84 and an 87, respectively. Minot won the West Region tournament for a second-straight year at 306, led by medalist Gavin Argent at 3-under-par 69.

The state Class A boys golf tournament will be played June 8-9 back at Hawktree. Jamestown's Burnham and senior Shea Carroll have both qualified for the state tournament as individuals.
