The Blue Jays kept fighting Thursday night in Williston -- it just wasn't quite enough.
The Jamestown High School girls tennis team dropped a 5-4 dual with the Coyotes bringing its overall record to 3-11. The Blue Jays remained out west Friday to take on Dickinson.
Dickinson stands at 8-5 overall and 3-4 in WDA play, while the Jays are still looking for their first West Region win.
If the Jays demonstrate the kind of effort against the Midgets that they did against the Coyotes, that elusive WDA win could be in the bag.
Results of Friday’s dual were unavailable.

"The girls played their best match of the year tonight," JHS head coach Paul Olson said Thursday night. "Grace (LeFevre) and Bria (Nieswaag) played two very smart matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to get the win."
LeFevre cruised to an easy first-set win over Riley Higgs, defeating the senior 6-2. Higgs attempted a comeback in set two but with a few smart shots LeFevre came out on top 6-4.
Nieswaag took care of business against Clara Henson, swinging her way to a pair of 6-2 wins.
Junior Phoebe Olson was the Jays' other win at singles -- topping Williston's No. 1, Chesni Strand, 6-2, 7-5. Olson drummed up another win against Strand in doubles where she and Lauryn Hibl served up a 6-2, 6-1 defeat.
"Lauryn and Phoebe had a great outing in doubles and looked fluid and smooth," Olson said. "It was disappointing to come up a match short, but our effort was outstanding."
