South Border defeated visiting Washburn/Wilton/Center-Stanton in high school Class B baseball on Friday.
The Mustangs hung five runs on the board in the first and walked off the game with six runs in the fifth.
James Schumacher tossed five innings of two-hit baseball for the winners, with both runs by the visitors coming unearned in the first. Rykan Salwei batted 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in the winning effort.
The Mustangs are scheduled to host the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan JV at 4 p.m. on Monday in Ashley before traveling to Midkota on Tuesday to play the northern Mustangs.

Carrington baseball survived a 9-8 battle against the Wolves on Thursday in Steele.
Kidder County/Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter battled back from an 8-1 deficit with six runs in the fifth but ended up falling a run short. Carrington hung eight of its nine runs on the board in the fourth.
Ethan Buskness went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for the Cards, who also received a homer and three RBIs from Michael Clifton. The Wolves' Blake Braun clubbed a home run and walked twice while driving in three.

The Wolves are scheduled to play at Sheyenne-New Rockford on Monday at 4:30 p.m., while Carrington is slated to host LaMoure/Litchville-Marion at 4 p.m.
