Class B volleyball: Ellendale earns a victory over L-M-M

Ellendale's Madi Bommersbach posted a team-leading 5 kills and 11 digs, while teammate Brianna Vance sent 5 ace serves over the net, helping the Cardinals take down the Litchville-Marion-Montpelier Rebels 3-0 in Class B volleyball at Ellendale on Thursday night.

The Cards stormed out to a quick 1-0 advantage in the match with a 25-11 win in the opening game, and kept that momentum going in a pair of 25-17 victories to close things out in three.

Mariah Gustafson tossed up 14 assists for the Cards, while Shayna Mertz and Vance each collected three kills.

The Rebels' Brenna Rodin and Tasha Piehl posted a match-high 11 kills and 20 digs, respectively.

Midkota's Kallie Frappier, Emily Berg and Shaye Ronningen all posted double digits in kills, helping the Mustangs improve to 21-1 with a 3-1 victory over the Rockets in New Rockford.

Frappier slammed home 16 kills, while Berge and Ronningen posted 14 and 12, respectively. The Mustangs' Callie Harding (21) and Alyssa Rickford (17) combined for 38 assists, as Midkota won by the finals of 25-16, 25-26, 25-19, 25-15.

Lacey Grann and Taryn Jacob each posted 6 kills for the Rockets, while Katie Demester posted a match-high 28 digs. The Rockets fell to 10-10 overall with the loss.

A match-high 14 kills and 16 digs from Kayln Schneider helped lift the Lions of Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock past the Napoleon Imperials 3-0 in Linton.

Linton-HMB held off the Imperials 25-21 in a tight opening game before rolling by the finals of 25-12 and 25-18. Whitney Gerving tossed up 19 assists for the winning team.

Napoleon was paced by Kecia Ellison with 6 kills, Kendra Weigel with 12 assists and Brenna Schmidt with 16 digs.
