It looked like it was going to be an easy win for the LaMoure/Litchville-Marion volleyball team Monday night in Carrington but the home team didn't give up so easily.
The Cardinals rebounded after dropping the first two sets 25-20 and 25-10 to make it a five-set battle between the two Region 3, District 5 teams. Carrington served up 25-18 and 25-17 wins in sets. No. 3 and 4 to tie it at two games apiece. The match ended with a 20-18 Carrington win in the fifth.
Carrington improved to 7-3 and 3-0 in the district standings while the Loboes fell to 8-6 and 3-2 in the conference.
LLM senior outside Ashlyn Rode kept the Cardinals' defense on their toes hammering home 12 kills while freshman Heidi Steffes knocked down nine.
Carrington returned the favor with Sydnie Grager hammering home 23 balls - a stat that kept Nateal Rodin busy in the back row for the Loboes. The sophomore middle popped up 26 digs while Molly Musland kept 18 alive. Libero Risa Rasmusson ended her night with 11 digs and seven of the team's 13 aces.

Both teams are slated to play again tonight (Oct. 13). LLM is set to host Lisbon (1-6) while Carrington will travel to undefeated Oakes (12-0).
