JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown pushed its winning streak to six games with a 7-0 win over Presentation College on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Jimmie Turf Field.
The Jimmies (7-4-1, 6-0-0) opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Cassandra Diaz score the first of her two goals to make it 1-0. The score would stay that way until the 23rd minute when the Jimmies’ Karlie Hintze slotted one home to double her team’s lead over the Saints (4-2-3, 1-2-2). The Jimmies got another one before the half when Gaby Sarkis scored in the 27th minute to make it 3-0.
It only took five minutes into the second half for the Jimmies to make it 4-0 when Aubree Gessel scored off a Diaz assist. Two minutes later, Sarkis got her second of the day to make it 5-0, and then three minutes after that, Diaz got her second of the day to go up 6-0. The Jimmies would tally another one in the 64th minute when Chloe Andrews scored to make it 7-0.
The Jimmies are back in action at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, when they take on Providence College.

Men get past Presentation

The University of Jamestown men's winless streak is over in soccer. The Jimmies got a 6-0 win over Presentation College on Wednesday at the Jimmie Turf Field.
The Jimmies (3-8-1, 1-4-1) turned to Jamestown local Austin Shafer to open the scoring in the seventh minute. In the 22nd minute, the Jimmies’ Axcele Bietghe found the back of the net to make it 2-0. The Jimmies’ Diego Righi scored in the 34th minute to make it 3-0 and then 27 seconds later, Righi scored again to make it 4-0 over the Saints.
The score would stay that way until the 54th minute when Shafer took a pass from Biteghe and made it 5-0. The Jimmies' final goal would come from Frankie Parkinson to make it 6-0.
The Jimmies are back in action at 4 p.m. on Oct. 6, when they host Providence College.
