JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown’s scoring ability was on full display in their game against Mount Marty on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Jimmie Turf Field. The Jimmies scored six goals in the first half on their way to a 9-0 win over the Lancers (1-9-2, 0-8-0).
The Jimmies (9-4-1, 8-0) were led by a four-goal performance from Emersen Kimbell, two goals and an assist from Gaby Sarkis and Hannah Hynek’s first career goal. In net, Jimmies goalie Tea Pence made two saves.
The Jimmies are back in action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, when they go to Dordt University.
Men hang on to beat Lancers
In the second game of the night, the University of Jamestown used a three-goal first half to hang on and beat Mount Marty 5-3 on Oct. 12 at the Jimmie Turf Field.
The Jimmies (5-9-1, 1-4-2) opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Austin Shafer slotted home the first of his hat trick to make it 1-0. The Jimmies added two more in the half to go into the break up 3-0. Early in the second half, the Lancers (5-4-3, 1-4-2) scored to cut the deficit to 3-1 before Shafer scored twice in less than five minutes to complete the hat trick. The Lancers added two late goals to tighten the game up but it wouldn’t be enough.

The Jimmies are back in action at 7 p.m. on Oct. 19, when they go to Dordt.
