Jimmies lose to Valley City State

The Jimmies returned to the diamond and their comeback attempt came up short in a 10-6 loss to rivals Valley City State University.

The Vikings (3-3) got out to a 5-0 lead before the Jimmies (0-2) could respond with one in the third to cut the deficit to 5-1. The Vikings added three more in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the fifth to take a 10-1 lead. The Jimmies scored three in the bottom of the fifth and one run a piece in the sixth and seventh but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

The Jimmies return to the diamond at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they face MSU-Moorhead.
