JAMESTOWN — The North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sports Writers Association has released the second Class B boys basketball and third Class B girls basketball polls.

The top four of the boys' basketball poll has remained the same as Four Winds-Minnewaukan stays the unanimous top selection followed by Central Cass, Bishop Ryan and Thompson. After a win over Dickinson Trinity, Shiloh Christian leaps over Bowman County into fifth, with the Bulldogs not playing.

The local teams to receive votes were LaMoure/Litchville-Marion and Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock. The Loboes start their season at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, when they face Sargent County. The Lions come in at 2-0, after wins over Hettinger/Scranton and Harvey/Wells County.

The furthest drop in the polls saw Central Cass drop from the top spot to No. 5 after suffering a loss to now No. 6-ranked May-Port-CG on Dec. 10. The other team to take a tumble in the girls' polls was Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier who dropped from No. 6 to No. 10, thanks to a loss to Carrington, who now are receiving votes, on Dec. 10.

More Local Sports Coverage
Due to inclement weather, Jamestown High School basketball and hockey games scheduled for Jan. 26 have been postponed.

The full top five of the girls' basketball poll sees all of the teams move up a spot with the Squirrels' loss. Kenmare-Bowells moves up to No. 1, Kindred move up to No. 2, Rugby rises to No. 3 and Shiloh Christian moves up to No. 4, with the Squirrels rounding out the top five.
