Danny Fischer and Riley Schafer fell short of placing at the state doubles meet on Saturday in Grand Forks.

The two Jamestown High School seniors ran into the hot Bismarck Century team of Zach Holmen and Tom Fraase who downed Fischer and Schafer in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.

But the Patriots' duo wasn't done, either. They went on to win two more matches in straight sets to place fifth overall.

Fischer and Schafer went 1-3 at the 2-day meet, advancing to state for the second straight season.
