Jamestown High School received votes in the latest Class A football media poll released Monday night.

The Blue Jays scored 21 unanswered points last Friday at Taylor Stadium to defeat visiting Bismarck Legacy 21-20.

The top three positions remained unchanged with Bismarck Century (2-0) leading West Fargo Sheyenne (4-0) and Bismarck (3-0). Jamestown hosts Class AA Valley City this Friday before traveling to play Century on Oct. 9 and hosting Bismarck Oct. 15.

Valley City is ranked No. 5 in the Class AA ranks. Bismarck St. Mary's (4-0) sill holds down the top position, receiving all 16 first-place votes.

The polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

Carrington wins on the road

Carrington rolled up 326 of 351 total yards of offense on the ground Friday, defeating previously unbeaten Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn in Glenburn.

The Cardinals broke open a 16-12 lead through three quarters with rushing scores by Ethan Buskness and Michael Clifton in the fourth to win 32-12.

Carrington quarterback Lucas Hendrickson led the Cardinals with 133 rushing yards and a score on 20 carries. Beau Retzlaff produced five tackles -- two for a loss -- and Clifton registered a sack defensively.

Carrington improved to 3-2 overall and host Bottineau this Friday at 7 p.m. The Sioux dropped to 4-1 and travel to top-ranked Langdon (5-0).

Titans fall to Falcons

Griggs-Midkota fell 20-0 to visiting Maple Valley/Enderlin in 9-man football on Saturday in Cooperstown.

The Titans fell to 1-4 and will travel to Colfax this Friday to play Richland (0-4). The Falcons improved to 3-2 and host Wyndmere/Lidgerwood (3-2) in Enderlin.
