Great season performances by Jamestown High School volleyball standouts Megan Gaffaney and Hannah Schiele were recognized Monday.

Gaffaney and Schiele were both awarded Class A all-state honors. Gaffaney was one of 13 athletes named to the first team, while Schiele was one of six second-team honorees.

Gaffaney, a junior setter, is Jamestown High School's career record holder in assists with over 2,000. Her 978 assists this season is a new school single-season record, and her 47 assists in a match against Fargo Shanley at last week's state tournament stands second in the school's single-match history.

Gaffaney also led the team with 61 ace serves and 42.5 blocks, while also collecting 158 kills and 371 digs.

Schiele, a junior libero, piled up 760 digs this season, which is the second-best season on record for the Blue Jays. Her 51 digs during the regular season in a home sweep of Minot stands third in Jamestown's single-match history.

Holen, a junior outside hitter, was selected all-state for a third year in a row. She helped lead the Loboes to a second consecutive state championship with 670 kills, 52 blocks and 487 digs this season.

Holen has 2,191 career kills and 1,905 career digs.

Meiklejohn, a junior setter, finished the year with 1,076 assists and 72 aces. She has posted 3,754 assists and 325 aces in her career.
