Geoffrion, Wisconsin skates by Minnesota

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Blake Geoffrion scored two goals Friday to lead Wisconsin to a 4-2 win over Minnesota in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Geoffrion ran his season goal total to five with tallies in the first and second periods for the Badgers (4-2-1, 2-2-1 WCHA). Wisconsin also got goals from Cody Goloubef and Ben Street.

Minnesota's Mike Hoeffel answered Geoffrion's first goal with his fourth of the season to tie the game 1-1 at 1:31 of the second.

But Goloubef and Geoffrion gave the Badgers a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

Patrick White scored on the power play at 8:47 to pull the Golden Gophers (2-4-1, 2-4-1) within a goal. But Street iced it for the Badgers at 18:08.

Alex Kangas made 28 saves for Minnesota, while Brett Bennett stopped 16 shots for Wisconsin.
