Taz wrestlers compete at state
The 2019 North Dakota USA State Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships were held at the Jamestown Civic Center on April 27. The Jamestown Taz wrestlers were part of over 400 wrestlers to compete.
Jamestown Taz Greco-Roman state champions were: Grady Anderson, Aden Braun and Noah Bruan. Second-place finishers were: Jackson Walters, Colton Mewes and Ben Matzke. Third-places finishers were: Ely Inscore. Fourth-place finishers were: A.J. Matzke, Pete Rasmussen, Karter Dickerman and Ethan Bowman. Fifth-place finishers were: Luke Schlepuetz and Nathan Thornton. Sixth-place finishers were: Sam Schlepuetz and Brody Biel.
Jamestown Taz freestyle state champions were: Luke Schlepuetz, Grady Anderson, Aden Braun and Noah Braun. Second-place finishers were Colton Mewes and Jack Schauer. Third-place finishers were: Tavon Schultes, A.J. Matzke, Joel Bowman and Ely Inscore. Fourth-place finishers were: Pete Rasmussen, Jackson Walters, Nathan Thornton, Lillian Hassebrock, Karter Dickerman and Ben Matzke. Fifth-place finishers were: Haden Smith and Connor Martinson.

• Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown is hosting its opening men's day chili feed this Thursday, May 9. Association membership is $35 and includes USGA handicap, participation in hole games, year-end tournament and free beverage. Tee times can be reserved online at www.jamestownparksandrec.com.
• Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown will be hosting a Golf Camp on June 17-19. Registrations are available at Hillcrest Pro Shop and the cost to register is $25. The deadline to register is June 12 and limited spots are available. Questions call 252-4320.
• Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown will be hosting a four-person scramble on May 18. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The event costs $120 per team, which includes green fees, hole games, lunch and a beverage. Register at Hillcrest Pro Shop. Questions call 252-4320.
Class B golf here May 10-11
The boys Class B East-West Golf Tournament will be held May 10-11 at Jamestown Country Club. The event is scheduled to feature 12 of last year's 18 teams that qualified for the state tournament.
Tee times will be at noon Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday. A long drive competition is planned for Friday evening.
