Jamestown High School's Alex Hanson had five kills as the West All-Stars won Game 1 of the all-star volleyball series in Fargo Monday night.
Game 2 was Tuesday night in Bismarck. Results were not available at press time.
Hanson, a Jamestown College recruit, was one of four West All-Stars with five kills or more as they rolled to a 4-1 win, 25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 25-13 and 15-9.
"I thought the girls played hard on both sides," said West coach Jennifer Walsh. "The girls have been having a lot of fun in practice and it really showed on the floor."
Bismarck Century's Carli Peterson led the West in kills (10) and aces (3). Allison Opp added 8 kills and a team-best three blocks. Morgan Renner passed out a match-high 19 assists. Bismarck's Twila Moser had six kills and Hanson hammered in five.
