Jamestown Optimist Club athletes of week

The Jamestown boys medley relay team, Sydney Prussia and Luke Shekeryk were named Jamestown Optimist Club Athletes of the Week.

The JHS boys swimming and diving medley relay team of Noah Haglund, Bodi Haglund, Garret Wright and Teddy Solensky broke the previous school record by 2 seconds with a time of 1:41:33 at last week's state meet.

Prussia, a junior on the Jimmies softball team from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, hit .500 (4-for-8) with a double, five runs scored, two walks, two stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .545 over a three-game stretch.

Shekeryk, a junior on the Jimmies baseball team from Seattle, Washington, hit three home runs in the Jimmies' doubleheader sweep over Culver-Stockton last Saturday in Missouri.
