There's still room for improvement, but the Jamestown College wrestling team's home debut was a success.
The Jimmies won seven of eight contested matches and picked up a pair of forfeits in a 40-4 victory over Regina (Sask.) on Thursday night at the Hansen Center.
"I was proud of my guys for going out there and putting forth an effort," Jimmies coach Cisco Cole said. "Of the nine matches contested, I can truly say seven of those were wrestled 100 percent, and the other guys wrestled hard, too. We lost one match, and things could have gone better there.
"We're not satisfied. We can do better. But the guys showed initiative and they showed heart putting it on the line. They're not a bad team. He's got a lot of good guys from Canada on that team."
The Jimmies picked up forfeits at 165 and 285.
