Jimmies earn GPAC football honors

University of Jamestown football's Izaak Myles, Vincent Corral and Carter Hangsleben each earned Great Plains Athletic Conference all-conference recognition Wednesday.

University of Jamestown football's Izaak Myles, Vincent Corral and Carter Hangsleben each earned Great Plains Athletic Conference all-conference recognition Wednesday.

Myles, a junior punter from Apple Valley, California, was named to the GPAC's first team. A second-team selection as a sophomore, Myles was second in the GPAC and 15th in the NAIA in average punt yards (37.7), attempting 51 punts for 1,922 yards and a long of 63.

Corral, UJ's junior nose tackle from San Tan Valley, Arizona, finished the season with 29 total tackles, 14 solo tackles and 15 tackle assists, all career highs. Corral was named to the GPAC's second team for a second consecutive season, also achieving three tackles for a loss of yards.

Hangsleben, a senior offensive tackle from Monticello, Minnesota, earned GPAC honorable mention honors. The UJ captain began starting at center in 2018 and finished his career as UJ's starting left tackle.

The Jimmies finished the fall at 1-7. Games were limited to conference opponents due to the pandemic.
