The University of Jamestown's Mason Walters has again been named player of the week in Great Plains Athletic Conference men's basketball.

The sophomore forward collected 28 points and 16 rebounds in the Jimmies' 91-74 victory hosting Dordt last Tuesday (Dec. 8), sinking a career-high four 3-pointers on five attempts. The effort was Walters' 10th double-double in 11 games to start the season, which leads the NAIA.

Walters also leads the country with 146 rebounds and is third with 261 points. The Jimmies (8-3 overall) host Briar Cliff tonight (Dec. 15).

Optimist athletes of week

Audrey Rodakowski and Jimmy Grosklaus were named Jamestown Optimist Club Athletes of the Week.

Rodakowski, a freshman on the Jimmie women's basketball team from Dickinson, North Dakota, helped lead the Jimmies to a come-from-behind, 64-61, victory over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, scoring nine points while racking up four assists, four rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks.

Grosklaus, a junior on the Jimmies' ACHA Division II men's hockey team from Colorado Springs, Colorado, recorded 55 saves in the University of Jamestown's 6-0 loss at the University of Mary last Saturday.
