Jamestown College has hired a new men's basketball coach.
Matt Murken, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been picked to replace Jeff Trumbauer, who resigned to become an assistant coach at Augustana last month after six years leading the Jimmies.
Murken spent the past season as an assistant coach at Des Moines Area Community College.
Prior to that, he spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Wayne State (Neb.) where he was also the recruiting coordinator, camp coordinator and academic coordinator.
"Matt is a talented coach with a very bright future, and he will bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to the program and to the athletic department," JC athletic director Lawrie Paulson said.

Murken has also been an assistant coach at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.
He graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Neb., an NAIA school, where as a player he helped lead the Bulldogs to three national tournament appearances.
Murken's hiring means the Jimmies have both basketball positions filled. Greg Ulland was hired to replace Mark Wiest as the women's head coach earlier this month.
