It was a split decision for the Jamestown College volleyball team on Monday in Minot.
The Jimmies were playing by NCAA Division II rules, which limits team to 12 substitutions.
In the opening match, Minot State got some revenge for Friday night's 3-2 loss at the Hansen Center with a 3-1 win over Jamestown College.
The Jimmies responded in their second match, taking down Sioux Falls (S.D.) handily, 3-0.
"It was a little of both worlds for us today," said JC coach Jon Hegerle. "Minot State did a great job preparing for us. They didn't have a game last weekend. They practiced on Sunday and they prepared well for us.

"For the most part I didn't think we came out mentally ready to go after them and it was apparent they were ready to come after us."
After dropping the first set, the Jimmies squared at 1-1 by taking the second , 25-22.
But it was mostly Beavers from there as they closed it out 25-15 and 25-21.
"We didn't match their energy until it was too late. They had so much momentum built up we couldn't overcome them," Hegerle said.
Emilee Schutta had another good match hitting, driving in a team-high 11 kills. Katie Zent was in double figures with 10. Jada Meiklejohn put up 20 assists and Katie Lee's 21 digs were team-leading.

The Jimmies dominated the final two sets against Sioux Falls, closing it out 25-17 and 25-11 after taking the opener, 25-20.
"I thought we needed an attitude adjustment and to our players' credit they did not let the outcome of the first match determine the second match," Hegerle said. "I thought we developed a level of comfort on the court. We blocked really well, hit fairly well and made good setting decisions. We showed we learned something from the first match."

Schutta completed a solid day with eight kills and two blocks.
"Emilee did her thing again. Offensively, she's really become a steady force for us," Hegerle said. "She made a lot of positive plays."
Zent had 9 kills, 9 digs and 3 blocks. Kelsey Deragisch led the way in assists with 18 and Hegerle was pleased with Janna Johnson's contributions after not playing against Minot State.
"Janna came in and gave us a lift, I thought. She blocked well and was a consistent presence when she was out there," he said.
The Jimmies, who improved to 14-8 on the season, have three conference matches on tap this weekend, all in Mayville. They play Valley City State on Friday and Mayville State and Dickinson State on Saturday in the DAC Super Weekend with all three matches counting in the conference standings.
