Going undrafted did not appear to have much impact on Alex Kreis Tuesday night.

The Jamestown College junior pitcher fired a 4-hit shutout for the Florence Redwolves in the Coastal Plains League against the Morehead City Marlins to improve his record to 2-0 with the team.

Kreis struck out nine batters in the game. The CPL is a wood-bat league for college players with pro potential.

The Major League Baseball draft concluded on Wednesday with rounds 31-50. Kreis did not get selected, meaning the Dakota Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year will be back with the Jimmies next season.

Kreis had been told by the scout from one team that he was a Group 4 player, meaning he could have been selected in rounds 9-15.
